equosano (Latin: Healthy Horse) was founded in 2018 to provide New Zealand horse owners and carers access to high quality, natural and organic products -- for themselves and their horses.

Our natural product formulations contain only the finest plant-based ingredients (80-100% organic) -- carefully selected for their therapeutic effectiveness for both people and horses.

Our mission: To enhance the well being of horses and the people who care for them through extraordinary therapeutic botanical products and exceptional service.

Our natural handcrafted products are free of parabens, animal by-products, propylene glycol, sodium lauryl sulfates, harmful colourants, synthetic fragrances, mineral oils, petroleum and other harsh chemicals that cause toxicity in people and animals. Many of the ingredients we use in our products are hand-picked fresh from our own gardens -- to create products that contain powerful healing and beautifying properties. Our organic skin care products are handcrafted without any severe heating or hydrogenating processes that can affect the nutritional content and potency of natural ingredients.

What you put on your skin, and on your horse's skin, has an internal effect that can be either therapeutically beneficial or TOXIC. This is why we formulate our products with the finest plant-derived ingredients -- to ensure that what goes on your skin, and on your horse's skin, is therapeutically beneficial and safe.

A note from equosano's founder/director:

My passion for formulating botanical skin care products and remedies stems from my early adult years. Back then, 'conventional' (unnatural) skin care products irritated my skin -- resulting in rashes and eczema. This prompted me to search out natural remedies that were more suited to my sensitive skin. As my knowledge of naturopathy developed, I began to formulate natural, plant-derived products; both for myself and my horses. My career journey since then has mostly involved professional health therapies and tertiary education -- with much research and product formulating going on behind-the-scenes.

After repeatedly experiencing the extraordinary healing and beautifying power of plants in my own life, I decided in early 2018 to embark on a new journey -- to make the development of equosano my full-time focus. I am excited that other horse enthusiasts will now be able to take advantage of my product formulations, not just for their horses but for themselves too. I have found that people who take good care of their horses typically care about their own health and well being -- hence my rationale for formulating botanical products for horses and their carers.

A major advantage of operating from my own rural 'workshop' to create equosano botanical products, is that I have direct control over every stage of product formulation -- from sourcing the natural ingredients to the finished product.  It also means that I have control over the environment in which the products are handcrafted to ensure each product is ethically handcrafted to the highest standard.

My hope, is that you will enjoy using equosano products as much as I do, and that your confidence and faith in using plant-derived skin care solutions will develop as you and your horse(s) experience the extraordinary therapeutic power of nature for nourishment, healing and sustenance -- that is the essence of equosano.
