equosano was founded in 2018 to give New Zealand horse owners, trainers and riders access to high quality, natural and organic equine products that are therapeutic, beautifying and naturally aromatic.

We use the finest (human-grade) botanicals and minerals in our equine formulations—carefully selected for their safety and therapeutic effectiveness for both horses and humans.

Our mission: To enhance the well being of horses and their carers through extraordinary, natural and organic equine products and exceptional service. * While organic ingredients are much more expensive than unnatural and non-organic ingredients—we choose to keep our prices comparative so that, when faced with a choice, horse owners and carers will choose to buy natural and organic products that are therapeutic for their horse(s), i.e., equine products that will help to detoxify, not 'toxify' the horse.

Our natural and organic equine products are free of parabens, animal by-products, propylene glycol, sodium lauryl sulfates, harmful colourants, synthetic fragrances, mineral oil, petroleum and other harsh chemicals that cause toxicity in people and animals.  We formulate our products without any severe heating or hydrogenating processes that can affect the nutritional content and potency of natural ingredients, and we handcraft our products in small batches to ensure their freshness.

What you put on your skin, and on your horse's skin, has an internal effect that can be either therapeutically beneficial or TOXIC. This is why we formulate our products with the finest naturally-derived ingredients to ensure that what goes on your skin, and on your horse's skin, is therapeutically beneficial and safe.

A note from equosano's founder/director:

My passion for formulating natural and organic skin care care products stems from my early adult years. Back then, 'conventional', unnatural skin care products irritated my skin—resulting in rashes, eczema and itchy skin. This prompted me to search out natural remedies that were more suited to my sensitive skin. As my knowledge of naturopathy developed, I began to formulate natural skin and health care products for myself and my horses. After repeatedly experiencing the extraordinary healing and beautifying power of plants in my own life, I decided in early 2018 to make my life-long passion my full-time focus. I am excited that other horse owners, trainers and riders will now be able to take advantage of what equosano has to offer, not just for their horses, but for themselves too.

My hope, is that you will enjoy using equosano products as much as I do, and that your confidence and faith in using natural and organic products to support your horse's (and your own) health and well-being will develop as you and your horse experience the extraordinary, therapeutic power of nature for nourishment, healing and sustenance—the true essence of equosano!
